Have you ever seen a video on a public Facebook post that you would just love to be able to post to your wordpress blog. While if the video is a youtube video you could go to youtube and get the embed code from youtube, but not all videos posted on Facebook have been uploaded to youtube. Well I have good news for you. There is a plugin called Facebook Video Embed Plugin. While you could purchase such a plugin for $17 or more at this site (http://fbvideoembed.com) there is a free plugin that works fine that you can download at https://wordpress.org/plugins/facebook-video-embed.
After downloading the plugin activate the plugin.
To use the plugin, go to your post editor by opening up a new post or existing post and you will see that an button has been added to the visual editor as shown below.
Now fill out the form that will post up as shown in the below image:
- Fill out the form and enter URL of Facebook video, width and height. The video post must be public, which is indicated by the gray world icon, right next the post’s publishing time.
I suggest 500 x 400 for width and height.
In filling out the form, you need to get the Facebook video ID which may look like https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152655761258385
To get the Facebook video ID just right-click the post’s publishing time and click copy link address (i.e. where it either states the date and time it was published or states that it was published ___ hours ago) to copy it to your clipboard. Now insert the video id in the form box that the plugin creates when you click on the embed button and select whether you want to just show the video or show it as it looks in Facebook. Now click on Text button in the upper right of your post editor and hit the Update button, then click on the Visual button and hit Update and you are done.
An example video embedded from a Facebook Fan Page is set forth below.[fbvideo link=”https://www.facebook.com/roflpot/videos/856246847780620/” width=”500″ height=”400″ onlyvideo=”1″]
